I just viewed "Picasso and Braque go to the Movies," a documentary by Arne Glimcher about how the Cubist movement was influenced by early cinema.

.

I had no idea that Picasso and Braque were joined at the hip in their art until the beginning of WWI.

.

It's like all of their paintings were done in tandem, in pairs.

.

In quality, and execution, their work was equal.  In historical acclaim, Braque was definitely the Jan Brady of the two...

.

It was a decent documentary - but much of it felt like one of those films a boring eighth grade teacher would show you when she had to grade papers at their desk.

.

I liked the content of the documentary - I just think that it could have been more cleverly presented.

.

Been thinking about yesterday's artwork.  Today I don't like it.  (talking about "The Lady of the Arts.").

Click here for a decent interview of Arne Glimcher at bigthink.com.  His world is/was so different/foreign to mine.
