I just returned from CA after a fun vacation there.  We went to Disneyland, Legoland (below) -- and we saw the fire station where "Emergency" was filmed in the early 70's  (There, we saw Randolph Mantooth signing autographs.).

(This is me in front of the actual paramedic truck at the station in Carson where the show was filmed.  "Emergency" was my favorite show as a kid, after "The Six Million Dollar Man.")

Here are some pretty good drawings by an unnamed artist which were being auctioned off there at the Fire Station:

While on our way to L.A., we had some time to kill in Austin, TX - so we visited the Wally Workman Gallery.

.

.

Then we crossed the street to the Russell Gallery, where I briefly met L.A.-based artist Daniel Maltzman

.

.

We also stepped into the Art Department at University of Texas (not much to see there now, as it is summer-time.).

.

Furthermore, we visited the Zilker Botanical Garden (below) (which is well worth the visit if it is not too hot!).

.

.

We visited The Grove in Hollywood (below), and attended Reality L.A. Church in Hollywood, where we heard Pastor Tim Chaddick preach from the Book of Ruth.

We enjoyed spending some great time with family in Seal Beach and in Vista.  Also, we went to In-N-Out 2x's, and our all-time favorite restaurant - Enriques, in Long Beach, at the corner of PCH and Loynes drive.  We hung out at one of my favorite Long Beach spots, the park at the top of Signal Hill (photo below).

On my flight back from Long Beach, I sat four rows behind the actor Tate Donovan - I recognized him from the Nancy Drew movie (which I have not really seen (I guess), by the way).... (Photo of Long Beach Airport below.)
