Watching the documentary "Art and Craft" on Amazon Instant View tonight. It is OK. Mark Landis is a frail, sickly, yet very gifted art forger. Interesting movie. Too slow for me.
Just finished this Aggie painting (below) called 'Angel on My Shoulder.' On Facebook, no one seems interested in buying a print of it. Maybe it's too purplish. Julie thinks that it is too close-up. I give myself an A+ for effort, but a C- on execution. Oh well. I guess you can't win 'em all, right?
An aquaintance in L.A., a mentor of sorts (J. Michael Walker), who I just met briefly in his studio in L.A. this summer, encouraged me on FB today to work more on my sculpture busts. I am excited to continue to evolve in that genre.
The L.A. artist Jon Measures is inspiring me lately. We had a brief discussion last night on FB. Hope to meet him and the L.A. photographer Eric Minh Swenson perhaps this summer.
